About LSSN

Lutheran Social Services of Nevada (LSSN) is a trusted Las Vegas nonprofit organization. Nearly 25 years ago, a dedicated group of local volunteers began serving meals and providing food and clothing to members of our community. Since that point, LSSN has grown to become a grassroots organization known for its diverse services for individuals of many demographics, including: low-income, at-risk of homelessness, homeless, families with or without children, youth, veterans, people with disabilities, and senior citizens. Since 1996, over 440,000 individuals have been cared for by the agency. Our comprehensive social services include DigiMart, our online food pantry; mobile food distribution events called Open Air Markets; nutrition education classes and live cooking demonstrations; our Heart of the City Senior Meal Program and senior supportive services; mainstream benefits applications; and other safety net services.

Senior Meals

LSSN partners with two Las Vegas churches located in low-income neighborhoods to provide hot meals to seniors every weekday. Seniors (60 and older) may eat for free or give an optional donation to help support the program. Non-Seniors (59 and under) can eat for a $5.00 donation. The partnership has also resulted in the churches providing more comprehensive services to seniors, such as companionship, Bible studies, games sessions, and other services to meet their multiple needs.
